YES.</strong></p> <p>As hoodia gordonii is a plant included in apendix II of CITES, an international convention to protect endangered species, the USDA has regulations to be complied with by the hoodia importers.</p> <p>There are provisions for the hoodia being labeled upon arrival &quot;Produced from Hoodia spp. material obtained through controlled harvesting and production in collaboration with the CITES Management Authorities of Botswana/Namibia/South Africa under agreement no. BS/NA/ZA xxxxxxx&quot; (Annotation #9) to be permitted entry. However, no agreement yet exists between Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa of the type mentioned in annotiation #9 to the Appendices to CITES.
